My aunt is a Medical Transcriptionist. She was telling me about jobs and the type of schooling I'd need for them. She told me that Medical Coding would be a good career and it has a good job outlook. She also mentioned X-Ray technician. Which one of these should I major in? Anybody on here one of these? What are the pros and cons of each? Thanks.

Do not listen to Ty H who answered your question before. Radiologic technology is a very safe career.

I make decent money; opportunity to advance to other modalities (MRI, etc.); interesting cases; but can be tough on the body (lifting/pulling patients).

See about job shadowing to get an idea of what each job is like.

Which one is more interesting to you??? You are the one who will be going to the job everday, make it one you will enjoy. Anything health related is good right now with our aging population. Personally, X-Ray tech sounds a bit more interesting versus working with billing and codes.
