Abuse comes in many forms-physical, emotional, financial, etc. I believe that there is a time in everyone's life that they abuse themselves, sometimes unintentionally or unconsciously, while there are times that, like myself (in the past),some may have physically abused themselves to feel physical pain so that the emotional pain in my/their life would not be so strong and painful.
