Sounds like your schnazer may have devleoped a fatty cyst. I don't know about min. but had a friend that had a standard that got them at the time, and my Keeshond had one.
For your own peace of mind you will want to have it checked by a vet as soon as you can afford it - but if it is a fatty cyst then it likely will not need any treatment. My Keeshond had hers for five years, and died of something totally unrelated.

more than likely it's what's called a fatty tumor. these usually are not cancerous and the dog can live just fine with them. normally your vet will not remove these types of tumors unless it's restricting movement or bothering your dog. as soon as you can you should to be on the safe side take him to your vet and have them do what's called a fine needle aspirate of the tumor and they can tell you if it's indeed fatty tissue. also call your local humane society, with living in such a big city they can either give you a cheaper exam fee or refer you to someone who you can afford. but please get the dog to the vet as soon as you can. since i am not a vet, and cannot see the dog, i cannot give you a definate answer, as can anyone. but yes these are usually fatty tumors, and are not cancerous.

Angel B. It is probably time for you to cut back on his foodWhy doesn't your dog get exercise? It is important for a dog's bowels to move properly through walking and running. What your feeling is more than likely a Cyst. But whether it is benign or malignant is another matter.Your best bet would be to enquire at an animal shelter or similar, and see if you can get him treated. If you want to keep him healthy, start exercising.

Hi,
It may be a fatty tumor, dogs do get them. It could also be a fluid filled cyst.
You should bring your dog in for a checkup, this should be around 30 bux..........i dont know of too many free vets around.
But dont delay, just incase it is something serious!!
