Hi,
I want to set up a wirless network between 2 computers.
My laptop has got a wirless device built in but my computer hasent so if I bought a wirless network adapter for my computer could I then link the 2 computers together? I would like the computers to share a printer and internet connection. I am using Windows xp on both the computers, also how do I put a password on my network so people dont use my connection?
Thanks..

first you need a wireless router for the wireless adapters in the computers to connect through. The documentation for the router should explain in pretty simple terms how to secure the network, usually by enabling WEP and assigning a key.

yes you can share printers and the internet connection on both pc's. check this site and hopefully you'd find your answers http://www.theeldergeek.com/quick_guide_to_simple_file_sharing.htm

and to protect your wireless, you can assign a password through your wireless device (router or hub) it depends on what's the brand of your wireless
