I wont celebrate because I am not a Giants fan. But, it will be nice to see him get that record since he has given life back to a almost dead game of baseball.

Barry Bonds is probably one of the best baseball players to ever play the game...I said ONE OF THE BEST, not the best. You can't forget players like Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Babe Ruth, and Hank Aaron.
Everyone says he's on steroids, but can you prove it? No. Has Major League Baseball done any tests? No.
There is no evidence on him using steroids. He hasn't tested positive.
But anyway, there are many reasons why I'm saying that he's one of the best baseball players to ever play the game.
First off: The 500/500 club. Can you name ONE person to ever accomplish that? No, you can't. The person that has been the closest to reaching that is Willie Mays. 660 home runs and 338 steals. Thats unbelievable!
Like I said, there is no proof that Barry Bonds is on steroids. He's big. Big deal. Maybe during the off-season he gained weight, and made it all into muscle. There are thousands of explanations to him getting big. Doesn't mean he takes steroids.
Even if he did take steroids, back in that monstrous year of his back in 2001, when he blasted 73 home runs, he wouldn't be playing now. It's 2007, if you take anabolic steroids, you could end your career within 3 years. It's been 6 years since 2001, when people started getting suspicious.
Some people might be saying, "Oh, he's taking steroids, and it's obvious because he get's injured a lot." WRONG. He's old. He's over 40 years old, your muscles start to strain by that age.
Another thing that makes him one of the best players ever is the fact that his bat-speed is amazing. His timing is amazing. Don't agree with me? Did you see the home run he hit against Livan Hernandez the other day? He saw the pitch, he was going to swing early, but did you see him wait? If that was someone like Sammy Sosa, that would have been a WHIF!
He has 2,901 hits. That's great. Don't tell me that it's not. That's only 99 hits away from 3,000. That's another amazing goal that I hope he reaches.
He's not only a great hitter, but a great fielder as well. He has a .984 fielding percentage. In 21 years. That is remarkable.
I really don't have anything else to say. Barry Bonds is an amazing player. He's closing in on the home run record, and I hope he breaks it.
Barry Bonds = Definate Hall of Famer.
DONE!

I see it like this.....
I dont think anyone should take steriods because it is unfair....yes you think the same too
But.... steriods or no steriods
Its is hard to hit a 98 mile an hour ball with a diameter of about 3 inches...over the fence
Dont get me wrong...steriods helped him hit them..but he should get more credit than he has
matta of fact...i bet if i give all these people steriods writing negative about bonds....i bet they couldnt get a homerun over a nadult league softball team fence

He seems like a great guy who is cool with all his teammates and just enjoys playing ball. I mean you Bonds haters need to give the man a break he is like in his forties and is still hitting homers. Also we have no actual proof that he has ever taken steroids just our opinions and all those accusations and thats not a good reason to hate the man so much seriously.
Go Barry!!

He's a cheater and a jerk. So I don't like him. That said, Major League Baseball is at fault for the whole debacle. Everyone knew that steroids were a problem, and they chose not to do anything. Now we're faced with one of our most cherished records being tarnished. I think that Macguire, Sosa, Bonds... all of these guys should be allowed in the Hall of Fame. Baseball screwed up. Baseball should be punished for it, not just these guys. Give them an asterisk or their own steroid wing or whatever, but put them there, because they are a part of baseball's tarnished history now, like it or not. I don't like Bonds and I won't be paying any attention when he hits his big home run, but I don't blame him. He's just a product of the environment and system that MLB created.

I will teach my children that you are not proven guilty before you are fairly judged. I will teach my children not to judge people based on assumptions. That's what I will teach my children when Bonds name is in the record books!
I will celebrate history, I will celebrate the day he enters the HOF, and I will always love one of the greatest players I have ever seen play the game.

I think he's a jerk and a cheater. We'll never know if he would have got this far in the HR-race without juicing up, and that's horrible. I think he'll break the record and probably be inducted, but I'll never like him. And it's not okay for him to be singled out, but no one should feel bad for him because he was dishonest anyway.

One of the greatest ballplayers ever to strap on cleats. One of the greatest hitters ever. I don't love or hate him, really. I've just admired his abilities as a baseball player for a long time
