It can be easier to see what is desirable in someone when you know that someone else has seen, and acted upon it, too. I think that can apply to professional and personal relationships equally. When there are many applicants to choose from, knowing there is interest from another can make you into the "prize". Stiring up jealousy in someone may make them strive even harder to keep you, as well.

That's what the scientists say. They've done tests, which suggest that a female will be more interested in a guy if he already has a partner. And probably for the same reasons why it's easier to get a job if you already have one :)

do this apply to the male species also? do you think it would be fair to your partner for you to gather and select? what is the purpose of having a gf, or bf by the way? was it for fun, do you plan it to be permanent? or better yet, why look for others if you're already committed with one?
i don't believe the two are analogous with each other, as while job could go without wholehearted commitment, having a gf/bf requires serious commitment that understandingly requires exclusiveness... There are a lot more reasons on why they shouldn't be analogous, morally speaking that is, but i believe i need not enumerate them all...

How true that statement is! The old saying goes when your not looking to something it's always on sale. From my experience, on getting a boyfriend is,one always comes around when I'm not looking for one. "Then I interview them"LOL

It's easier to get one if you don't come off as desperate. So having a girlfriend helps, but pretending you have one doesn't; they can still sense your desperation.
Find a desperate nerdy girl who you would never consider dating and go out with her. That should relieve your desperation. Then you can trade up (and so can she).

usually eaiser to get one if yu have one , always someone else out their jealous and trys to take you away from your girl just to see if they can , they like the challange dont you
