B = weight of a brick

B = 4 kg + (1/2)B
B - (1/2)B = 4 kg
(1/2)B = 4 kg
B = 2(4) kg
B = 8 kg

(1 + 1/2)B = (1 + 1/2)8 kg
(3/2)B = (3/2)8 kg
(3/2)B = 12 kg

Answer: 12 kg

note: If a brick ways a half brick and 4 kg, then half of a brick ways 4 kg. 1 and 1/2 bricks is the same as 3 half bricks or 12 kg.
