I think artists are having second thoughts to whether they are endangering their own lives by endorsing a lifestyle they do not live. Most of these "artists" make millions of dollars by being hypocrites, they say I live a thug life when they are millionaires and live the rich life

It's not dying, but most of it is mainly underground now and days, artist like "The Game" "young Jezzy" ect. have what they call Mixtapes and most of it is better than there commercial CD', because in normal cds you buy at wal-mart or FYE ect. the artist have to limit what they say in hopes that they dont get in trouble and get fined or sued! but in mixtapes scence they "dont make any profit from them" they can say and ryme what ever they want, uncut and just Raw. taking "thug music" or Gangsta (as my i pod classifies those songs) and comparing them to the normal radio cd music these new rappers come out with, theres absolutly no comparison. Undergroung mixtapes are with out a doubt "GANGSTA MUSIC AT ITS FINES"
