Try using what we used to call a "door Stop". It is a small wedge shaped item usually made out of hard rubber about 4 inches long and ramping up to about 1 inch high. You use it by tapping it under the door with the toe of your shoe close to the doorknob side of the door. When you want to open the door just kick it sideways and push it out of the way. You could probably make one out of wood if you can't buy one.

Jamb something under the door knob. A tilted chair will work nicely. You can go to a hardware store and purchase an interior door lock knob and replace it. It should only be two screws and pushing in a tab to release the knob. good luck.

Take the door knob out & take it to a hardware store or a lock shop. Buy a new keyed lock & put it in.

You take the old one out because there is more than one style that is used.

If you only want it locked when you are in the room you can buy a hook & eye to latch it when you are inside. Any hard ware store. There are other types of latches that will do the same thing.

Ask your parents that you'd like to have a lock on your door so you can have some more privacy and they could help you out with it, or if you're old enough to drive, you can find a solution to that at a home improvement store.

Get some heavy furniture that you can move in front of and away fromt he door. If you have the option then go to your local hardware store and get an easy to install door lock; they have many varieties (ones that slide in and out to lock, some with chains, others with more high tech ways) and they are inexpensive.

Good luck.

good question I would also like to know an answere to this.

I htink you can use a chair and pu it under the knob so the knob can't be turned. Also you could use alot of duct tape but that would be annoying.

Well I was going to say that if it opened out, tie some rope to the handle and then to something strong in the room. That way, if someone tried to open the door, they wouldn't be able to. But to me the hair clip seems like a good idea...but think about this. How many people "walk into your bathroom whenever they want"? Probably not that often.

Buy a thick piece of flat metal with a hole in the center and go to the local hardware store, and screw it to the door frame. You can then turn the metal so that it sticks out in the doors way, and twist it back to leave the door open.

This only works if your door opens in.
