If the earth's gravitational field collapsed for a few seconds the earth would explode into a miniature super-nova.
It would destroy the moon, maybe even mars and Venus,I don't think too much good would come from it at least in relation to us.

well since gravity holds nearly everything together besides chemical bondings...if we say the entire earth, everything smaller than an element would remain untouched, and everything would fall apart in a sort of drifting motion and that would include your intestine, stomach, individual brain cells; since man came from the earth. Life on Earth would be ruined as we know it, not to mention gravity being taken away would cause all the bombs in the storehouses of the world would explode before pieces of them drifted away. It'd be like a nuclear war. Not to mention the crust would explode and that would be like a million nuclear explosions at once.

Well, for one, the earth's magnetic field may be gone for that period of time of which you speak, which will result in many catastrophic tragedies.

!.) the van Allen belts will fail, unleashing a huge amount of radiation onto everything.

2.) everyone will be lost, bc of the loss of magnetic poles.

3.) if only earth lost its gravitational pull, then wed also be systematically all be pulled apart into pieces as then wed be exerting no gravity at all, which means we dont pull anything else equally, so, wed all be ripped to pieces... so theres nothing really good that can happen seeing as we're all dead.

I'm sorry if my answer was morbid... but its all i got. :-P

The earth would increase in radius by hundreds of feet and then compress back when the gravity returned. This would destroy everything on the planet and cause masive earthquakes and volcanic erruptions.

The bad thing is that everything including yourself will be thrown out into the space and the good thing will be that the earth will be free of corrupt politicians.

There will be no good effects not even for overweight people who long for a low reading on the scale, they will be weightless but just as massive.
