There are more universes than our little minds can comprehend. Our LINEAR thinking prevents us from even imagining infinity. Beginnings & ends have locked "most" of us into a box. When it was believed that the earth was flat, I wonder what questions people asked? If we go to the "edge" will we fall off? Science has greatly expanded our knowledge, but never claims to know it "all."
Edit: ericbryce2 "seems" close to anti-matter. Quite fascinating & well worth researching.

I could say that when you get there you would see the gigantic eye of God looking back at you but I'm only joking.
I've thought about this question and the best idea I have about the universe and it's boundaries is this. The universe before the BIG BANG did not exist. There was no space, no time and no matter.
ytza {----(my cat Loki just walked across my laptop and wrote you that message :- )
There was a complete void or nothingness and that by definition has no measurable dimensions.

The best explanation that I've heard is that once the universe began, it expanded at the speed of light. Because nothing can travel faster then the speed of light, it creates a kind of a barrier that nothing can get past. If you did, you would reach the muitiverse, which contains all of the universes. Whats beyond that? perhaps an even bigger set of things. Mind you most of this is theory.

I don't think there is an end, so to speak. It's beyond my comprehension. I speculate that all of the universe including human beings are but tiny cells in the mind of some sort of gigantic breathing, creative force. We are part of a most mysterious whole. But why creation? I have no clue. What a great question you ask!

If someone replies "X" is at the very end one would seek evidence, proof and what not. If one quotes the scriptures again the problem of proving, providing evidence will be there. No one can give you a first hand answer because no one has gone there.
Any way I am replying as per my knowledge of the Hindu Philosophy. There is no end of the universe. Please do not ask for documentary proof.

yea i have to go with the beginning [ie big bang]. because the end of the universe is a point in time not a place and it just starts over again.

There is no end. There cannot be. If the end was a wall, what is on the other side of the wall? The human mind cannot comprehend it.

trillions and trillions and trillions of years from now when the universe dies it will only return to one black hole impoding on itself till it explodes in a big bang and the cycle of the universe will be complete as it begins once again...

If by end, you mean edge, the universe has no edge. If you mean termination, we really don't know as of yet.
