Normally the last piece of useless information that I heard. I also like reciting all of the prime numbers, in order, from 1 to 500. Then there are the strange trivia questions, such as "Which 2 words in the English language have all 5 vowels in the correct order of A,E,I,O,U?" Completely useless, but great fun nonetheless.

Certainly the most useless datum of which I know is the exact date when the Pied Piper of Hamelin led the kiddies out of town, never to be seen again. This showed up in The Wall Street Journal about thirty years ago. To this day, the citizens of Hameln (the modern spelling) commemorate the event, which took place on June 26, 1284. (And you probably thought it was just a story!)

In Guam they pay men to roam the country side and deflower virgins.
That's the first useless, random fact that pops into my head at all times. As there was amild discussion about getting a trip to guam for our male friend for many months after we learned this fact.

Apple seeds are poisonous as they contain a cyanide compound, and that apples are also part of the rose family. Eating 11 pounds of apples will make you gain one pound in weight. I don't know what the obsession with apples is lol....
