Open it up and take out the battery. Try and dry the inside as quickly as possible...try a hairdryer.

Don't do anything stupid like out it in a microwave (sorry for the disclaimer but better safe than sorry...like they put a warning on a hairdryer not to use while in the shower).

Once dry to sight, go ahead and leave it apart for a couple of hours to be sure, then put everything back together and give it a try.

Good luck!

Step one: Do not, under any circumstance try to turn it on until it's bone dry.

Step two: Take out the battery.

Step three: place in a warm, dry place and let it dry for several days. Open it and expose the insides if you can do so without damaging it, but don't try to heat it up or use a hair dryer, you want the water swelling and shrinking to happen slowly.

Step four: When all part's are completely bone dry, put the battery back in and turn it on.

Usually the phone will work fine, the display is the problem and it's hit or miss, it'll either work fine or never work again. The battery will suffer a significant loss in the amount of time it holds a charge either way though.

You need to disconnect the battery and do not plug the phone into any electrical power source as this may short out resistors and other electrical components on the circuit boards. Place the phone in a window sill and let the sun work on it. If the phone and screen are full of water, I think you may need to just make a claim that the phone was lost and get a new one - It could take months for water to evaporate from the screen. It took forever with mine and I ended up getting a new phone. My old one eventually started working again and I used it again.

Electronics have a pretty good chance of survival when something like that happens -- as long as it wasn't submerged for too long. Just let it dry out for maybe 24 hours and see what happens.
The same thing happened to my brother, except replace the words "go swimming with your phone in your pocket" with "drop your phone in a dirty toilet". It sat out overnight and he still uses it to this day (happened about a year ago).

Well last time mine got soaked in the rain i took the back off pulled out the battery, and hit it with the hair dryer. Keep a good distance with the dryer though do not want to over heat it. If that does not work then sorry do not have any other ideas. Hope you got the insurance if not for a new one i would suggest Craig's list or E-bay best of luck.

Dont turn it on! Take the battery out and wait for the front screen to air dry and rid itself from all moisture. Wait at least a day and pray to the god of electronics, it works.

Turn it off if it's not already and let it dry out. Wait at least 24 hours then try turning it on.

You should remove the battery and let it dry. If it doesn't work, you need a new phone.
