When I was that age I had the same problem. I actually talked to my doctor about it. She said anywhere between 6-8 hours is normal. Your young though so U might need more sleep depending on how active you are. Try waking up an hour earlier than what you are now and not taking any power naps during the day. You should start getting to sleep earlier.

yeah. i can't function without sleep, so i like to get like 9 or 10, but it's not always possible with school. my friend did a report on it once and teenagers are supposed to get 9 or 10 hours of sleep a night, otherwise they're sleep deprived. the problem is that as a teenager your biological clock changes a bit and so you don't feel like you have to go to sleep until around 11. or in your case, 1. tons of my friends are the same as you, and yet we all have to wake up early for school. that's why they're, and i, when i go to bed at midnight, are tired all day and take naps. we are young and so should not be taking naps! so if you don't get enough sleep you'll never reach your full potential, at least in terms of height.

Yeah, it's bad, especially because you're going to bed late. It's super important that you GO to bed at a reasonable hour, like 10, 11, or sometimes 12, but it's also bad that you aren't getting many total hours. I hate to sound like your parents cuz I'm 15 too, but it delays or even stops growth and you can't think as well.

As hard as it is sometimes to get enough sleep, you're still at an age when you need to get more sleep. Try cutting out some or all caffiene .. that might help you fall asleep. Also doing something relaxing before bed ... for example reading might help :)

Teenagers should be getting at least 8 hours of sleep. We rarely do, though, and this IS a bad thing.
