and why do you think that?

I don't know a number I think we often view people we don't know by how they look and our own age ie..when I was 15 I thought 35 was old, and now I'm near 30 and I think old is late 70's and 80's but I'm sure some of the old ladies I look after still wouldn't describe themselves as old. In fact one lady age 101 told me how she wished she was 80 again (lol).

A child of 10 years old will think of an adult 20 years old as old but same adult will think a 30-year old as old; same 30-year old will think a 40-year old as old, and so on. It's really relative.

If I'm now 85, I will think 95 is old.

A 90-year old and 100-year old will think of 110 as old, and the 140 or 150 including Mathusalem as very old.

Really depends on how old the person doing the thinking is. For a fifty year old, sixty isn't old but for an 18 year old, Moses comes to mind!

I would think of someone 70 or older being old.

I suppose that it's because people in their 60's these days are usually so active... and in my experience, my relatives seem to slow down when they hit 70 or so.

(no offense to any of those hip 70 year olds reading Y!A tonight!)

I don't have a certain age that I consider old. It just depends on how someone looks and acts. I know a woman who has tons of stamina, about fifty hobbies, and is a world traveler. She is trim and has smooth, beautiful skin. She is also 85. Is she old? Not to me...

I don't think of anyone as "Old" unless they look the part.
