Barry Bonds has refused to be a member of the MLB Players' Association. He has exclusive rights to his name and likeness. When a company makes a game they have to pay a licensing fee to use the names and likenesses of the players. The companies deal with the MLBPA. Bonds puts his price extremely high. Therefore it more benficial for the games to have a created character instead of Bonds. Bonds is arrogant and controlling. He wants control over everything that he is remotely connected to.

Bonds IS a member of the Major League Baseball Players Association (better known as the players' union).
However, has has opted out of the MLBPA's blanket licensing agreements, which is his right. So licensees interested in using his name or likeness would have to negotiate with him or his representative directly. Most don't find it worth the effort or cost.

It's not that he doesnt want to be in video games. He is just not a part of the players union. The video game people get their licensing from the players union to allow the players to be in the game, so as long as he is not in the players union, he cant be in the game.

I think it's because he's not in the players union, and only players in the MLBPA (Major League Baseball Players Association) can be in the games.

bc he thinks he's better than everyone else. He wont even allow most baseball card companies to make a baseball card with his name or pic of him. Its just dumb

maybe he dosnt want people to make him strike out on purpose or edit him and make him suck.
