Is it just to pad their little score with a couple of points? I know that some questions are really stupid and don't justify a serious answer but a lot of technical questions that are ask by people who I assume are looking for help get answered by people who apparently pulled an answer out of their rear end because they are total BS.

There are those who enjoy seeing what they wrote posted on the internet even if it shows the world how inexperienced they really are.You are right about it.Some desperate people come here looking for help only to find themselves the victim of some rambling know it all.

Most people use this site for entertainment value only. and could really case less about helping other people. Where I like to do what I can to help. Having been in automotive repair as long as I have I find that helping people save money (Cars are expensive) is the best way to help. there are a lot of people out there that just want to keep taking your money and never resolve the issue. I have dedicated clients that will always bring their cars to me simply be cause we fix it the first time with out them having to bring it back 3 4 or even 5 times. From these people I have built up a nice base of clients because word of mouth has spread quickly. my first 6 years in business I tell people to please refer their friends and family, I had one guy who had been burned by a number of shops in the area and really didn't trust any mechanic. I did some work for him for free to gain his trust. he never had another problem with that car for the rest of the 6 years he owned it. he bought it in over that 6 years for oil changes, and tires. referred 25 people to me. I started to give him a 15% discount for every new customer he brought me. If I can effect one person who has had a bad experience and help them with confirming or giving them some insight as to what the shop might say. Then hopefully I can get them to trust a good shop like mine again. but I agree. most people on here are simply here for entertainment value only. Sorry for the ramblings. I'm an old man... I do that sometimes...

Were you looking for a serious answer or were you just venting? I think you answered your own question by the way!

You are right, some do just to get points. I think some of them think they are really funny and everyone needs to hear their lame remarks. Some of us really do try to give real answers though.

Oh.
Are we suppose to give EDUCATED answers?
I thought this was just a chat room that used to discuss non relevant issues.

That's the way it seems most of the time.....
