don't think of it as a diet. Think of it as a lifestyle change. If you think "diet", you think short term. You feel let down if you don't lose all the weight you want to lose in that short time span. Also, when diets are over, people usually go back to their old eating habits.

Maybe because it's been said time and time again that dieting doesn't work. To be blunt, if you wanted it bad enough, you'd stick with it. I personally think that overdoing it is a sure way to quit, because it gets boring fast. Also if you prohibit yourself from eating foods you like, you're going to crave them and eat a lot, then you'll feel bad and stop 'dieting'. Don't diet, just eat less and eat better most of the time, but let yourself eat small portions of yummy things every few days. There's no reason you can't have a slice of cheese cake or a hamburger a couple times a week to curb a craving.

Do you know dieting can actually cause weight gain?

I also have been trying to diet but failed.
I think you should start slow.
First, cut down on your favourite unhealthy food. For me, it's chocolates. Then slowly, build up. If you have extreme dieting at one go, it would just fail.

Have daily reminders, either through from friends or family.
Reward yourself after one sucessful week.

Do you exercise? Sadly, i do not like exercising so never fail to lose weight.
Exercise is important. Maybe get someone to do with you, especially your favourite sports.

All the best!

Diets are programs designed to fail. Eat what you like but a whole lot less of it. That handles the craving, but even that won't work until you convince yourself that you will modify your diet to sensible selections. You'll know it when it happens. It will seem like that is the way it has always been. Once you lose weight, you can hardly remember being any heavier.

I ran into your question and had to answer.
Do what I'm doing this month to lose weight.
I don't think about yesterday, its food and fat are past.
I don't think about tomorrow, it is not here yet.
TODAY I will eat NO processed foods.
Today I will drink NO soft drinks.
I will eat breakfast, lunch and dinner ONLY.
No snacks. NONE.
I will eat by the clock only!!!!
My point being I will eat only poly-unsaturated foods, drink water and live only for TODAY
My goal is not a certain weight, but this month only, this day only I will NOT eat what processed foods or drink sodas or fast foods.
Tomorrow I will repeat today.
Email me if you want to join my new venture and it WILL work, maybe we can go on it together. LOL ya think?

I have several times explained my own personal diet (no fee) It has worked well for me for several years, and I have no problem with depression from holding on to it.

If you should want to hear about it ask, it is simple and easy, but like all things need commitment.

If you lost weight, it is likely that your life would change. Until you come to terms with the changes that will take place, your diets will fail, or you will sabotage them.

i think that is what MOST people, including myself, experience when we try to radically change the way we eat....

thinks about it, most of life is this way, it's hard to change... habits are engrained.

i've been trying to eat a much more sensible diet.. my docs told me that losing weight will help w/ some lung problems i'vebeen having... i'm sick of yo-yo dieting too!

i've been doing only fresh foods... fresh fruits & veggies, fresh meats, whole grains only. this much more satisfying... still get sweets (fruits) & crunchy (whole grain wheat thins & pasta)... & i'm losing weight! woo hoo

good luck.

Encouragement, that's what its all approximately. yet i assume some persons do not choose for the encouragement, and thats completely fantastic. purely enable 'em recognize you will possibly quite not hear it. i'm advantageous they're going to discover plenty persons to tell :-)
