Farting around others. Saying the wrong thing. Tripping and falling on our a.s.s or face. Having something on our face or in our teeth with knowing it but everyone else sees.

I'm embarrassed by, well, me. I say the nerdest things ever, and quite frankly, I'm not a fashion model either so, inside and out, I'm embarrassed. My little sister has done some pretty rotten stuff though...and there was this one time with a needle and a nurse that decided that would be a good time to give me a flu shot. Little did she know that even a girl with a recent knee surgery can attempt a kick! (obviously I'm needle-phobic!) And sometimes when my friends want to show out in front of some cute guy they'll say some pretty rotten stuff about me...GEEZ! I'M EMBARRASSED BY EVERYTHING!

We only are embarrased if we choose to be. Embarrassment comes from feeling uncomfortable about something we did that we believe others look down on. Choose not to care about the opinions of others and feel proud of our own choices and their is no embarrrassment. So embarrassment is self imposed, a choice. To answer the question ....we are embarrassed by our own choice.

Faux Pas, being gauche, anything that violates accepted courtesy and social norms. Being held up to ridicule can both hurt and be embarrassing.

we are embarassed by things that we do that we think is embarassing. the thing that will affect our feelings of pride, the things that we feel make us a little bit of what we are to some people. the things that is not the what we want to show to others.(its such a good, and very comtemplative questions you ask, i just wish a lot more people will think and answer it, very, very good question....better than some question ask by some celebrities??)

Our mothers. My mom prides herself in being able to embarrass her children. She says it's her right and her duty.
As a mom myself, I agree. I can't wait to show my children's dates pictures of them that will make them blush. It's my right and my duty, isn't it?
