if you wanted to, you could attach the wrap-around to a helmet.

Oh yeah. They weren't really helmets as much as ear guards that protected the sides of your head. They were designed to fit over your hat, and they didn't cover the top of your head or even too far down in the back. There were elastic bands that connected the side pieces together.

We used to have a limited number of batting helmets, and we traded helmets so that the batter always had one to wear. After solid plastic helmets started to become available, the batter would wear the solid helmet until he got on base. Then, he would trade with his coach and put on a wrap-around helmet so that the batter would always have a solid helmet.

That was back in a time when nobody wore batting gloves, almost all of the bats were wood, and people pulled their pants up to show their stirrup socks.

When I played in Little League, shortly after the continents separated yet before Skylab fell, we had to use the ear-guards whenever we got on base, giving the batting helmet back to the batter.

think approximately to be kidding me! some all and sundry is so fortunate. 1869! Unreal. And oh yeah, i might sell the cardboard if I had it, yet fairly that card desires to be in a museum. yet i might take as plenty money as i'd desire to get for it. I propose the Honus Wagner card sells for a million in respectable shape.
