It's not just Naruto, if you read many more mangas and then watch the animes you'll find that the chapters dont match either most of the time. The person who answered you first is right, alot of times there just isnt simply enough stuff in the original manga to fill an epsisode. And in most animes they add a ton of stuff in that wasnt in the manga at all, so a part of a manga that would ordinarily take perhapes two chapters might take three shows. Or something. I find it annoying too, actually.

That's because a single episode of Naruto may cover more than one chapter. For example: Chapters 1 and 2 of Naruto may make up episode 1 of the anime and chapters 3, 4 and part of 5 may make up episode 2 and so on. Unlike the manga, the anime HAS to last for a certain amount of time and just one chapter would not take up 24 minutes.

because if it did, chapter 1 would be over 100 pages long which will seriously be a problem for the rest of the shonen series. Usually 1 episode is roughly 4 chapters of the manga.

Because one manga may not be enough to fill an episode, or it could be too much to fit in one episode. Also due to fillers made by the animators. So there are a lot of changes and whatev. Good question
