I'm sure somebody out there got one of those Yankee Beanie Babies the day David Wells threw his perfect game, but in lieu of that ...

The first Saturday of June, the Fresno Grizzlies (the Giants' AAA team in the PCL) honored Bob Barker with "The Price Is Right" Night. No, Bob didn't attend (I guess the price wasn't right, b*tch!), but instead, the team's mascot, a yellowish-orange blob named Parker, was dressed in a black suit and tie and a white wig and given a long microphone, and he went around that night as "Bob Parker." And the first 2,500 of us who got in were given a "Bob Parker" bobblehead.

Meanwhile, the Grizzlies auctioned off the special TPIR game jerseys that night -- maybe the most outlandish unis in baseball history. (Yes, even more so than the White Sox in shorts.) If you want to see one, espn.com had a Page 2 item on it a couple weeks ago.

As a Cub fan one time we went to Phili for a cubs-phils game and it was Jim Thome autographed bat day, me and my sister both wound up winning one. I would definitly say ouside of Wrigley Field Philli has the most amazing ballpark...it really was an awesome time. Actually I almost saw a no-hitter too...against the Cubs but still, Eric Milton took one into the ninth before giving it up to Corey Patterson. The Thome bat was pretty cool though....it was real size.

Maybe not the coolest, but the funniest.

it wass Mother's day and i took my mother to the Oakland's A's, where they had a Mother's day cap for all mother's.

When we got the cap, it was a black cap with a black "A's" on it. You couldn't even see the logo!

My mother put it on, but took it off after one inning, as it was a sunny day and her brain was frying.

I have kept the cap and pondered what went wrong with the distributor. How could they have messed up the order? And for Mother's Day, I was expecting the green-and-gold approach, not the "Death Cap " (as I came to refer to it)
