I'm not sure what brand our garage door is but right now my dad has problems with the garage door. He says that when he uses the garage door button (you know the button that you use to open/close the garage) BOTH our and our neighboor garages open/close. Also, since we can't open it fron the inside (i think the circuit is busted) I would like to know a quick solution.

Change the code in the dip switches in the remote and the controler in the garage.

DIP switches were very commonly used to set a security code on garage door openers. This design, which used up to twelve switches in a group, was used to avoid interference from other nearby door opener remotes. Current garage door openers use rolling code systems for better security.

As far as the button in the house, you have a loose, or broken wire.

This explains what I'm talking about.

Sounds like your running the same frequency as your neighbor's. There should be a set of jumper switches on the garage door opener. You will need to change one of these and do the same on your remote control(s). Hopefully you still have the manual to show you how to go about to do this.

Good luck!
