I recently got a speeding ticket and a week later received tons of junk mail from lawyers with all the info of my ticket written on the letters. Is it legal for this information to be given out, or is that against my rights.

I live in New jersey, and received six different lawyers letters.

Sorry, bub. When you break the law, you open yourself up to public scrutiny. Courts are open too - they can all come and watch.

Laws are in the public pervue....

If you don't want your "thang" hanging out in public, keep your nose clean and start obeying the law.

This is completely legal. It is also NOT against the code of professional ethics in ANY STATE. It isn't "given out". Most attorneys who do such things send a clerk to the court to search for filings each week. It IS public record, and anyone can go search it. It is NOT published and sold.

your ticket is public record. some cities list all the people arrested or ticketed in the local paper. the attorneys are legally soliciting your business. they cant solicit face to face, but letters are allowed.

Yes, and naming people in the newspaper is right, too. They are public records.

I think its very important.

Let's say some guy has a history of running people over while drunk. Then he runs you over. Wouldn't you want to know his history so you can sue his face off later?
