if gays were punished by AIDS, New Orleans by Katrina, and the funerals of US troops who die in Iraq are picketed by those in Kansas who say these dead troops are punishment for our, as a nation, allowing gays any rights whatsoever.....so,,,using their logic, doesn't it appear God has had enough of Kansas?

This is a sad, almost horrific question. And the behavior portrayed in it, appauling.

What nihilistic thinking can lead to this twisted logic?

Kansas is Kansas. Our troops died for the reasons that they joined the military. To serve their country. And gays had rights and still have rights. With or without any particular specific law to back it up.

God does not hate Kansas, nor any of the people who live here. God loves even the most cantankerous moron that tries to spout God's words in order to enforce his own prejudice.
God may hate his actions but loves his soul. God wants each to learn who really is in control and what he really is like.
God does not hate homosexuals, arabs, democrats, republican or even nazis. He wants them all back in his fold. If it takes a flood or tornado to get your attention, so be it. Many of the displaced people from the flood are now in Churches (all day an night) and they have not been in a church in years. Maybe, a few will learn that these people in the churches here in Kansas do love them like God loves them and they will learn not to hate, like some notable Kansas morons do.

It is written in the Revelations. Remember that it has been the Cons from Kansas that were part of the ridicule of the people in New Orleans. What goes around comes around.
