Sorry... I don't see or feel any physical future for the two of you.
Here's the problem... The online world is mainly fantasy and people are genuinely sincere in their feelings... online is safe and people can be anyone they want to be. Meeting in person is a completely different story... one cannot hide behind distance and real insecurities pop up.
Your friend is a good friend... keep it that way! You each have great lives and are pretty happy as things are. Enjoy your relationship, but don't get your heart set on a long term in-person relationship... it is not going to happen.
