Does homophobic people only think there's one kind of gay guy (queen)? Becaue my family is VERY homphobic, but was shocked when they seen a gay jock (masculine) guy. Okay what I'm trying to say, do people that "hate gay guys" with a passion, only thinks that every gay guy is the queen type (sissy fied) (weak)...

Most people who are homophobic aren't completely informed as to what makes someone gay. An extremely queeny man might actually be straight, as he could be a Metro-sexual. A very burly masculine man can just as easily be gay. I feel that most people who are homophobic have only one idea as to what a gay man is and that is as a very "sissy" and "girly" man.

Not all people who are homophobic have this "closed minded" idealization. A handful of homophobic people out there know that gay men can be both masculine and feminine and just completely disagree with people of the same sex being together.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Hope this helps

I think it's easier to "spot" a more feminine-seeming man, so that's usually what people assume all gay men are like. It's just like people being able to "spot"a more masculine-seeming woman, and assuming she is a lesbian. People have a tendency to notice things that are different to them, and vilify those things.
It's actually somewhat of a known issue, even within the gay male community. Everyone says they are tolerant, but in a lot of M4M ads, guys often say they are "straight-acting" or seeking someone straight acting. It's thought to be internalized homophobia, but I can see that it could be a coping mechanism. Even if it's not right, you are probably less likely to be harassed the more you "act straight". Such a frustrating world we live in, huh?

Homophobic people just dislike gays...they probably have limited knowledge about different types, just lump them in together like you say. My friend is gay and he's over 6 feet and very 'manly'. =)

Their minds are so closed up it's hard to think what they picture as a gay guy

That's so unfair for sissy-type men who are actually hetero, isn't it.
I guess they also automatically think that the macho guy must be the one on top.
