52% of the public have already stated that they will not vote for her under any circumstances. Why would a party support a candidate that they know has no chance of winning? Is it their goal to make sure a Republican is elected in 08?

The fact of the matter is that Hillary Clinton has positioned herself to be the nominee of the Democrat Party for the past 6 years. Why? Because the Clinton's know no-other way to earn a living other than to glom off the American public. This is especially true since Bill was disbarred for perjury and Hillary has not practiced before a jury in over 25 years. Lord knows they both cannot write themselves out of a paper bag, hence EVERY publication they have produced has been ghost written. To add further insult to injury, Hillary had to carpet-bag the Liberal leaning New York State senate seat because she could not get elected in any other state that had a marginal Republican Party nominee. (see citation)
So, with all of the high negatives working against Hillary, and the layered fog of "Clinton Fatigue" descending upon the beltway media and party regulars goading them into the flash-in-the-Obama-pan, why run?
Because it is the bargain that She and Bill stuck in 1991 during his run and faux-pas Presidency. Bill has always said she would be President someday and he gave her a chance at policy development during the "Hillary Care" debackle in 1994. (2 citations) Hillary also believes she is destined to be President, and If we can make "Blinky" Pelosi Speaker of the House, well, you know the lyric (citation).
As to why the Democrats insist on tossing up losers? I goes back to their mindset with regards to the electorate, if you are the Party of lowered expectations, you will get the least effective resultant. This is why my Congressman Dennis Kucinich insists HE is the real deal. Dennis, you got a hot wife, shut-up and eat your broccoli.
Fortunately for the rest of us, She is the BEST that the Democrats have. Yup, even better than Obama, who is only a half-empty suit. Her candidacy will force the Republican Party to field their absolute best, and that will be a good thing for a change.

OK, I'm an independent not a Dem, but if it keeps a bush clone out of the white house I'll vote for Hillery. Though I'd prefer a better option, and I'm not talking about Obama either. I can't believe that as badly as Bush has screwed up the presidency the Dems can't field a better group than these two losers.

Both parties want to win the Presidency. Democrats think Hillary is the best chance they have of beating the best Republican.

well, a lot of the public doesn't vote, so she would still have a chance. a lot of that '52%' who would never vote for her, won't vote at all. she only has to do better than the republican who's in the race.

Because she embodies all that is communist. If we elect her, we WILL, not we might, we WILL have a communist government, pure and simple.
