I would have to say regrets, for the most part, are time related. We regret what we did or didn't do and what we did or didn't do was in the past. I don't know that all long for the past as not all of us had a wonderful past. The past is all we know and, at times, it can be comforting.

Maybe. Could be because when we look back at something or some situation that happened, we think that we could have handled it better or change the outcome. maybe we're just wistful for those moments in life were you said or thought "I wish this moment lasted forever" (or something along those lines)
Regrets are all time, place, and person related. It all depends on what you regret.

Regret. Funny word really. Its never left my own side. As much as I've tried to ignore them, they've always been their. Regrets. Regrets. Regrets. I do long for the past because that is where my parents are. In the past. In my memories of the past. Their not here....nope...not in the presant. Not at all. But do I long for the past because I'm short of time? No. I want to be short of time. I really do. Sometimes that is. I have a dream to help people. By one act of random kindness at a time. But sometimes when I think for myself for even a litte amount of time, I feel like giving up. I just feel like jumpinh off the mountain that I see the sunset and the sunrise from. And now, after the death of Mr. DeHetren...and 57 year old paralyzed man who had cerebral palsy...my friend...well...I have nobody. No parents. No brother. No sister. No pet. No love. No life. No happiness. No friends. Nobody. I am nobody. So I do long for the beautiful and golden past....but not because I'm short of time.
And...are regrets time related...as I said...for me...no. Regrets have been with me...for I don't know...something that feels like a century. A millenia.
Are Regrets place related....maybe. Maybe they are. In my case...I think they really are. I can't go back to where my father used to put his hand on my shoulder to encourage me. I can't go back to where I used to put my head in my mother's lap. I can't go back to the past. And the past is where I want to be in. There's another regret.
And finally, are regrets person-related? I think so. Maybe it's just me that's feeling so sorry for my self that I do so many good things for other and all the bad things happen to me.
Yeah. Maybe it's just me.
Or maybe.....
Anyway.
To sum it all up...Regrets have been like my shadow...but when sometimes the sun is just right...I don't have my shadow. Meaning...I get to be rid of those regrets. Probably my best times.

Regrets are usually related to a person, whether it's another person or yourself. Maybe you regret not going to that place you wanted to always go to, or enrolling in that class you thought you should've taken. While the subject of the regret is something else, there's nothing else to blame except yourself.

Because we relate all of our experience to time then regret is more closely related to time. I think you could wrap them all together by saying that regret comes from the thought of a missed experience or from an already lived experience that didn't meet your expectations. Regret is more about experience than time. Experience encompasses TIME, PLACE, and PEOPLE.

Sometimes we might remember when we were young and starting to enjoy Life to the Maximum, as we grow older, we might long for the yesterday, and we almost regret, the why we did not do this or that, when we were young. But, reality sets in and we look to the future, as a means of compensation, for losing out on some opportunities we might have lost through the years.

regret is person related... its how one reacted to a particular situation that happened in their life... but then most people wish to turn back time (or regret) for the things they failed to do either because they never had the chance, they were grabbed of the chance, they let go of the chance or they were too late...

We long for the past as the person. We want things we no longer can acquire in our old age, we long for those loved ones to be alive once more, to be short enough for the jungle gym, to see our first love. We long for the past then not because of our mentality, but because of our emotions, our temperament, and that little spark inside that makes us human.
