Then too, most neolithic cultures thought of animals as different tribes of People--an idea from which stems a lot of the mythologies on which our modern cultures are based. Supposedly the animals, or totems, taught us a lot.

There is an urge in humans to communicate with animals that goes back to our earliest roots. They still teach us a lot about ourselves, and that makes teaching them to communicate better worthwhile.
