I would like to think it's going to get better but in all reality, it looks like it's getting worse. Just my opinion though.

Well, technology won't solve all problems, but I say
[drum roll, please ... thank you]
BETTER.
We already ARE better, but it's very slow and hard for us to see, since we notice all the suckiness.
We are increasingly moving toward consensus that all humans are human.
That's a Big Thing.
There is a greater proportion of people living now who believe that, and who are doing something about it.
We KNOW more than ever, and are rapidly learning even more still.
I'm not just talking about science and technology; much more importantly, we know more about US.
About what kind of critters we are, how we work, why we do what we do, how we learn, and how we can heal.
Much of this knowledge is not now sufficiently spread among the general population, and much of it gets mangled in the spreading.
But there have been a lot of people devoted to understanding how to make things better, and I believe we are approaching a tipping point.
We know so much more about how the human mind works, and how different people learn different kinds of things.
If we can implement this knowledge in our schools well enough that enough students have enough experiences of genuine Education to get the difference between it and "schooling", that generation will see how Education works, and will insist on their children getting it.
The resulting generation will go far toward healing this oh, so mangled world.
I'm not talking airy-fairy utopia -- but significant and substantial reduction of suffering, restructuring of the systems that keep us suffering, promotion of all that is truly human.
That's what I think.

The world ebbs and flows like the tides.. some decades are better than others. I am sure when the depression in the 30s was going on people thought it was really bad and hated Hoove and then WW2 they hated Hitler and then Vietnam they hated Johnson, some hated Reagan and Bush Sr and Clinton. now they hate Bush. The next prez will have that same stuff to deal with and the world will keep spinning cause it don't care what we do. Just keep praying for a miracle.. they have been known to happen.

It could go any way, It has to do with the people working the white house and the invorment. We are getting smarter with the Technology, if we have enought people to carry it out. The world isn't screwed up , it is the people. The ones that try the hardest is the ones that some one throw a block in their way. And we cant get pass.

In terms of human endeavor, I think it will ultimately stay pretty much the same. For all the recent technological explosion has done, it hasn't made us behave any differently. We're still easily "corrupted by power," we still kill each other for little reason, we still find ways to ignore the immediate needs of our fellow human beings. In the same way, our response to beauty and art and love hasn't dramatically changed either- we still find time to make and appreciate beautiful things and experiences. So for human existance, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
For the rest of the world, though, I've got say we're seriously messing things up (environmentally, I mean). There is no clean slate coming our way any time soon, and all our efforts at this point are damage control at best.

I think that the world will get worse. With over population there will be to many people and not enough room. This will only cause more fights and problems.

It's getting worse because all people care about now are quick things like high speed internet and new cell phones and fast food haha, and not to mention global warming.. its getting worse mosly, but in some ways it is getting better with technology to help medical research and such, but it is mostly getting worse I believe.

I think the world all depends on how many more movies tom cruise makes, if he makes less than one movie, the world gets better, but if he makes more than 0 movies, the world is doomed to eternal crap and bad acting
