The reason I ask is because japanes made vehicles have proven to be more durable and last longer than american made vehicles.

Personally I'd walk past the hotly advertised Toyota and buy the Duramax Diesel in a Chevrolet model. Although it trails the Toyota by 18 horsepower it has over 300 foot pounds more torque. That's what carries loads. We'll see how many Toyota's show up at county fairgrounds this summer to hook to a weight transfer sled. That will tell if the phoney TV ad has any credability. The awkward behind the times Toyota has gone back to the belt driven camshafts. What do you think that's going to cost to fix? There's no contest when it comes to fuel economy either It's the diesel by a long shot. GM is willing to warranty their their cars and trucks for 100,000 miles or 5 years. Any well taken care of diesel motor will run well for 500,000 - 800,000 miles. No gasoline engine on earth can come close. That proves that Toyota is a chicken sh*t with a 60,000 mile power train warranty.

I agree with you on the truck, Tundras are the best pickups on the market!
For a SUV well I guess I'd get a 4Runner as well, unless I didn't have to worry about gas mileage then I'd get a Toyota Sequoia. And a car probably a Nissan Skyline or a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR FQ400 (0-60 3.5 sec and a top speed of 175(MPH)) It also has great handling.

Loved my Acura, 315,000 miles, love my Toyota Tacoma, son had a great Honda Passport, So sad that American ingenuity can't come up with vehicles that are less inclined to break on schedule!

Planned obsolesce has become an American industry tradition.

It really depends on the user. As for myself, I'd rather choose the Toyota 4Runner, because it suit's me fine. It's not too big and not too little and I get all my stuff in. It's so reliable but if I want something better I would choose the Toyota Tundra. Man!!!! It gives me muscle and I feel enormous! Wow! Just my two-cents worth. Good luck!

Assuming I had absurd amounts of money to blow?

An R34 Skyline GT-R, all stock.

Or a 1978 Subaru Brat with a 6 inch lift, dual range 4WD, EJ22 engine running LNG, tons of lights, gloss black paint job and black powdercoated 15" Peugeot wheels. Mmmmmm.
