I don't like small talk. I'm not very good at just "visiting" with people. I don't like to talk unless there's something to talk about that's worthwhile (at least to me!).
I have been known to do a 180 in the supermarket and fly down another aisle in order to avoid having to chat with someone I know.

but, you have to show some courtesy...so you endure a little talk and try and get out of there as soon as you can.
Chances are excellent the other person feels the same way.
Here's the thing..."most" of the time we're on a schedule to get our chores done, including shopping. Being interrupted by meeting someone and then participating in idle chit-chat disrupts that schedule and there's simply very little time available for it....so, ya gotta get back on schedule.

YES!!! I HATE IT!!!!!!! And let's say it's one of your teachers, I know they have a life 2, but it's kind of weird to see them there, and then you HAVE to act all nice and polite, because your parents are right there, and they're your TEACHER!!!! That's what I have the most, and when it's someone you really don't like, and your parents say "hey! It's your buddy from school!" And then the talk to them, uhhhh, bad times!

lol omg you sound just like me! I cant stand when people pretend to take interest in other peoples weekends or they say the well known "how are you" or "take care" its like aggghhhh so annoying, who gives a ****. i always do the eye brow raise!! lol i wish everything was that simple. when people ask me how my weekend was i try to get into little detail as possible in hopes that it doesnt turn into a bull blown conversation. then they think im rude for not reciprocating the "how was YOUR weekend?" ughh its so hard to pretend to care.... why cant people just do their own thing... lol

I don't know. Sometimes you can make really good friends that way.
It's always good to get to know people.
