Yes, some Amish groups allow sunglasses, especially if they a prescription and for a special medical reason. the Amish are well aware of the need to protect their eyes and sometimes a hat just doesn't do it. They also wear regular glasses and have nothing against either sunglasses or reading glasses as long as the style is plain and modest. Although they do not embrace technology, they still occassionally allow things into their culture that do not directly go against their interpretation of the Bible.

Yes I've seen some at an auction in a blue shirt with a beard and spenders wearing sunglasses. And to those who say they don't when was the last time you've seen the amish

I've been to Amish country, and I don't remember people wearing sunglasses. The men wear big hats to cover their heads from the sun, and women keep on their white caps. But, I've never seen any with sunglasses.

haha...yeah they do :) I actually live in an Amish county and they do...want to know something really crazy though!? They sometimes get those glasses that transition to Sunglasses...nuts.

I'm pretty sure they don't but they deffinitely wear reading glasses, so I could see some of them accepting sunglasses for safety or health reasons.

I've never seen any of the local ones wearing them. They have their own local congregations who set the standards, so one group may allow them and their neighbors might not.
