My grandmother was a nurse in a hospital in NY where girls would use coat hangers or have back room butcher job abortions from which they hemorrhaged, died or survived and suffered awful infections.
It's interesting how people who aren't faced with getting pregnant feel they have the right to judge those who have. Abortions happened 50 years ago and are STILL happening.
If this is the only thing you worry about and place that above anything else, then lets hope you abstain so it is never an issue for you and you can go right on judging others because you believe in casting the first stone.
I think it's wrong to decide what the rest of the world should think, say and do when it comes to how THEY spend the rest of their lives. I wouldn't get one but I am smart enough to know I cannot control what others do.
By the way~ the baby DOES pay the price. Until every abandoned, neglected, starving, beaten and abused child in this world has TWO loving parents, the kids who are "lucky" enough to be born will tell you back off the abortion issue.
I say, unless you are willing to pay for each and every unwanted baby born into this world from birth to age 18, then exercise caution in voicing a hollow opinion.

Well of course some countries have made abortion illegal - it doesn't stop it of course, it just means it gets done with a coat hanger in a back alley - or if the family is wealthy - they visit a clinic overseas that will do it happily. Either way, the job usually gets done.
In the UK they stopped selling quinnine for people to use for malarial reasons - as heavy dosing of quinnine can result in termination.
It is about dealing with the lesser of two evils - neither is a perfect solution but clean medical operations are preferable to back street abortionists who will terminate at ANY stage of the pregnancy - and care neither for the foetus OR the mother OR the age of the foetus.
Of course in some countries (China most especially) little girls are often born and then disposed of - as they have the "one family one child" rule, and most families want a boy. If the family is poor, they cannot efford to find out the gender until it is born. If the child is a girl, the mother often "miscarried" - translation - dumped in a skip / mascerated / flushed. Grotesque but that's reality for you.
Sometimes a clean, professional abortion - although very controversial IS nonetheless, VASTLY better than back street jobs and / or child dumping.
It is ok to feel strongly for something as you clearly do - and to vote for your beliefs - just do so KNOWING what the consequences of getting your own way REALLY are - as opposed to what you would like to think them.
Remember when all the charities thought they were doing children a wonderful service when they closed the rug factories down to children - result: many of the homeless children either starved or went to prostitution to earn their living. They were not working at the factory for the fun of it - it was the best job they were able to get - then the West made them all unemployed.
My point is that often a "knee jerk" reaction actually helps no-one, least of all the people you are trying to help / protect.

The bill substitute into voted down using fact it substitute into completely pointless; there substitute into already a regulation on the books that secure the rights of youngsters already born and the Hippocratic Oaths all medical doctors take additionally shield those toddlers. there substitute into no desire for this bill, and all it could have accomplished substitute into to curve modern-day legality right into a sort that would have subverted Roe vs Wade, no longer save already-born toddlers. As for the assertion out of your 'registered nurse', the two it particularly is a lie, or the human beings doing this are ALREADY committing a criminal offense. The bill in question could have had no result the two way. In different words, while Republicans convey this up, they're speaking with the aid of a hollow of their @ss and purposefully mendacity in regards to the way issues easily got here approximately. undemanding.

Humans have already well and truly over populated the World, I would vote for any Party that tried to control this problem, can you imagine how much the six billion people World expand to in a hundred years, much of the World cannot feed itself as we are now, how will it be then?. All the world should welcome termination of unwanted pregnancies, it is not a baby until it is born or at least until late in the pregnancy, also something to be considered is the cost of paying for unwanted babies, usually funded by the tax payer and then using those funds to help pay for better hospitals, hospices, or giving our pensioners a better life by giving them a pension that reflects the cost of living, don't forget you will be a pensioner one day.

In the case of rape then why should the woman have to suffer the consequence of carrying the child when she was violated? You say where is the respect for life, and another person above say the people that support abortion only value murders (making them sound pro-death penalty) when in fact most of the people that are "pro-life" are pro-death penalty (even though they claim respect for the human life). They are constantly contradicting themselves. The fact is it's a choice for the individual to make and not right wing hypocritical evangelicals...

If you actually know anyone who has a baby in her womb…get her to a hospital immediately, I mean within a few minutes. Babies need air to breathe and the brain of even a really young baby will sustain damage within just a few minutes.
Oh! You’re not talking about a fetus are you? Look up the English word for ‘baby’, then look up the definition for ‘fetus’, then you will understand. This is really simple vocabulary.

I love it when women talk about abortions as casually as if the they were talking about breast augmentation. "It's their body and if being pregnant makes them look fat, why shouldn't they be allowed to have a Doctor fix it". Men need to realize that horny women are not thinking about having children. Mother nature has charged their system with hormones to the point that they will do anything to get relief and to hell with tomorrow. If women do not have the sense to recognize that sex is not a pastime, men should have the sense to realize that sex is about having children and if you do not want kids, do the right thing.

do you really think having a bunch of baby bobby sue red neck babys running around is good for the world. and think if the mother gets has the baby and cant care for it the childs life is ruined. babies parents who dont care or use them for drugs or feed them Coca-Cola (which rots their teeth so they have holes in them by the time theyre in kindergarden) doesnt not give the kid a good outlook of life. i think if they cant care for it the kid wont be cared for and will end up just like their mother and dad who ran off when he found out and works at Burger king

i have been asking this question for quite some time. if you think about it, liberals stand up for animals rights , prisoner's rights, civil rights, and just about any rights out there. so why not baby rights, huh? when you say it's a woman's right you are so wrong. you're letting the woman choose who lives and dies. so, liberals when are you going to start standing up for baby's rights?
oh by the way , mimi, i am a woman!!!

I'm staying out of the abortion debate. Guys don't have much to say about it, after-the-fact. We're too busy ditching the chick.
Besides, this topic has been kicked around too long as it is.
