In a recent poll in may, Bush's approval rating, along with Congress is about 30% (source: http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2007May11/0,4670,APPollBushCongress,00.html)
In another unrelated poll, Sunnis take up about 15-20%

Now, i believe that while Saddam Hussein was in power, mostly the Sunnis supported him. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6238435.stm)
Based on these facts, Saddam had approximately 15-20% of his country supporting him, while president Bush has about 35% of the country supporting him. I'd say that's about roughly the same percentage of approval. Now i ask you although this is highly unlikely, how would you feel if China viewed us as under an oppressive dictator and invaded the U.S. in order to "liberate us." I'm sure they heard about president Bush's detainees in Guantanamo bay and about Florida's controversy in the election. So, could this happen? Would you welcome them?

i think many people would rejoice, and any American that fought back would be a TERRORIST !

resisting American terrorists and insurgents would soon be understanding quite quickly the people in Irak who fight the occupiers are suddenly only fighting to rid their country of foreign invaders.

No, I would not be thankful & no other American would either! All we have to do is wait for the next election & this man will be gone from our lives. Why in the world would we be thankful for a communist country taking over the U.S., we have been fighting them for the past sixty some years! East & West Germany, Korea, Vietnam; all places we have sent our young to resist communism. Welcome China as a liberator, I don't think so!

Well for one they couldn't our air force and navy would wipe the floor with them before they even got close and if they did: Guess what? RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS the U.S citizens would then finish destroying them.

But if they could I would MUCH rather have bush even though I didn't vote for him of course I would want to have a president I can criticize in public, but if you do that in china your dead or in a labor camp.
And I could wait for they next election unlike china who has a dictator.

And being occupied by a foreign country would make it even worse.
I could also list immeasurable things I can do here and not in china.

I wonder if by now anyone else has seen the parallels. "I'd fight them myself! This is OUR country!" Maybe if people really thought, they'd realize that some Iraqis see it the same way. Not that I agree with them, but that I DO comprehend.

Too bad you picked China, though. You should've chosen a freer, not less free, country like Great Britain, Holland or Denmark to make your point.

At least with our dictator we still have the ability to pursue our dreams. Ask the people who work in the caves, do slave labor, have their children kidnapped for slave labor whether they would rather be here or there. As bad as things might be here, I have yet to see a story about 50 Americans stuffing themselves in a piggy back container, surviving on bread, water and their own urine and paying upwards of $50,000 to get to China. Yet this happens all the time with Chinese coming to the U.S.

Ahh, the democratic controlled congress is at about 19% last I heard!

We don't have a dictator, we have a democratically elected president, so there is no need for any commie Chinese soldiers to ever set foot here in the US!

Excuse me? China? The nation that killed millions to install communism? Kills off every second child. Uses selective pregnancy to keep boys? Has forced Taiwan to be part of it, although Taiwan wanted to be a constitutional republic? Tiennamen Square? The recent poisoning?

Yuck to your question. China lacks human rights' standing.
