I got valium from my vet because my chi cannot stand a thunderstorm and I know she will go bonkers on the 4th if I dont give her something . My other chi is really good on the 4th and he does not have any problems like that . so yeah i would say get your vet to write you a script for some valium.

Keep him in the house with the windows closed and the a/c on. Music or white noise machine to drown out the outside noise. A couple of benadryl make him sleepy and also cut down on any itching he might have.

just, leave them inside the house, or someplace inclosed with walls. put on some soothing music, maybe Beethoven or something like that. make sure they are far away from fireworks, give him his favorite toy, so that he will have something to do. i have found that those little Kong toys are awesome, because you can smear peanut butter inside of them and they will attempt to lick it out.
having something enjoyable to do will keep him busy and his mind off the loud noises. music will help block out the noise and sooth his fears.
i hope you have fun on the fourth, and i hope your dog is alright. KW

hi if you look like your picture maybe we can hook up sometime but back to the queston... it's a holiday have steak with a bone. After you finished your meal and are participating in fireworks or watching the pretty sight, let your dog have the steak bone. Our dog has to have it cooked because uncooked bones give a dog a better chance of getting sick. Thats my soltution!

Hi mynameisdorey2005, I, most definately agree with Kate M. Go to your vet and have him/her prescribe a mild sedative/tranquilizer for your pet. It really works wonders! Happy Fourth! XOXO Moonpie

The best thing I can do is keep him indoors. I don't bring him to any barbecues either.
