alright.
i need to know how to cool or freeze something (such as food) very quickly (such as in just a few seconds or minutes) and effiently. like a chemical or gas or some kind of electric wave or something.
please, no smart elic answers like 'just use ice' or 'a refrigerator might work'! i dont have time for that.

thank you in advance.

Proton LED :

O.K. I can think of a couple that displays good qualities for what you are looking for.

1 - Trichloroethane - Freon Gas if container is upright.
2- My favorite, Liquid nitrogen. Buy a new wart freeze remover kit at the drug store, or ask your local dermatologist for some. Bring a suitable container like a thermos. Be careful not to get it on you!

- Protonled

The best way, as mentioned earlier, is liquid nitrogen. Another way (I'm not sure of this, but I think it would work) would be to use a co2 fire extinguisher. The rapid release of condensed liquid CO2 could lower the temperature significantly (discharging in a soft container, like a pillow case, makes dry ice). These are typically used in kitchens, and there is co2 is some consumed foods (soda), so the food you are freezing should be edible. One drawback: cost , which makes the N2 route far more cost effective (and at - 195 C, faster too)

You can take a metal pot and put it into the freezer with a small amount of water in it. After the water freezes the pot will be below freezing. If you then put an ice and water slurry into the pot, with a little salt, then you can place what you want frozen into a plastic bag or container, and it will freeze very rapidly.

It is how we used to make ice cream, and it is quick.

If you have anything that's a gas at room temperature in its liquid or solid form it will rapidly cool its surroundings as it changes phase (because it must absorb its "heat of vaporization" to do so).

Common things used to freeze things quickly are liquid nitrogen or solid carbon dioxide (also called "dry ice"). Because of the very low temperatures they reach, these materials can be dangerous if they come into contact with body tissues, even skin, so be sure to take care in handling them. After they've transitioned to their gas form, though, they're essentially harmless (unless you're in a sealed room with a large amount of them, which could result in suffocation).

Dry ice (frozen CO2) can do this. Alton Brown uses it on his "Good Eats" show to freeze berries. Please read up and use caution when using dry ice though because it can cause blisters and it sublimates to CO2 gas which can be fatal or harmful if too much is inhaled.

in normal life, there's only dry ice u can use. but tht would be much fast.

in laboratory,u can use liquid nitrogen to cool thingz down.as for food,u can use some inpenetrable substance and then pour/put the liquid nitrogen on it.

and you're welcome for ur thnx

Dissolve urea or ammonium nitrate in water. Expand liquid CO2. Pour in liquid nitrogen.

Plug in your microwave backwards.

You don't explain what is wrong with dry ice.

Liquid nitrogen is often used to cool quickly as it is extremely cold.

There is always liquid nitrogen. It can be difficult to work with as it can be dangerous if not properly handled.
