When looking to purchase a piece of land you may want to put a modular home on... but yet you cant because they say restricted to stick built only... is there a reason for this?

For maintaining values in the neighborhood. Although manufactured homes have come a long way, some CC&R's will not allow manufactured homes so those that have stick built keep their value.

I just drove through a neighborhood that had a mix of nice stick built homes, manufactured homes, and crappy little old trailers. Not modular or manufactured homes, trailers. Those trailers compromise the value of the nice stick built homes, and for those that are in a subdivision, they know this.

Lisa A is correct. Just think about it ... if you owned a $300,000 home, would you want someone to move next door in a trailer?
