Somehow I cannot keep from puting the two together. I know there are peaks and valleys and that life is a never-ending rollercoaster ride, but the happiness is something that is always there. To me it is an enveloping characteristic of life that overshadows all the little things. My life is full of happiness. With that in mind, I am at peace. My happiness with the way things are have put me in a special place. Very hard to explain!!!

To me they both mean the same thing. Seeking peace is a journey of the brave. It will destroy your world as you know it and in the beginning it will feel as if you are going deeper into the darkness rather than rising above it. That's coz you have to do the first to attain the second. Took me years on a rollercoaster of Hell to get where I am now, which is Happy :)

Aim for peace, happiness will follow.

I am still young, only 14, yet I have a plan to aim for peace. I plan on learning all I can while I am still young. I then plan on using what I know to help those less fortunate. I know my gifts and I plan to achieve inner peace by spreading my talents. I know that in this plan I may have to give up 'stuff' but I hope to obtain greater rewards. (Of course that is easier said than done, but I have time to figure out how that will work out.)

Life disturbs me
with its incessant cacophony.
I only seek to live my life quietly,
free of any unwanted enthalpy.

I won’t even worry about tomorrow.
Let it keep it’s own indigenous sorrow.
For it is the only guarantee
if not today, then the marrow.
I only ask that it not be mine to see.

One day, I know it shall be mine
It is only a matter of time
Sorrow haunts us all.
It casts on life, a pall.

But till then, I shall spend
what time I have to wend
through the joys I have to give
as my life, I must strive to live.

Trying not, trouble, to borrow
thus avoiding what I can of sorrow.
Although it is to no avail
Sorrow is part of life’s travail.

You might try reading some things on Buddhism. The concept of detachment is key in learning to be at peace.

Happy is not a state of mind
It occurs each sequence at a time
If it's contentment you're inquiring around
Then, yes, I'm contented
Or just about
