Some people expierienced mild depression when there is not much sunshine. Expecially during winter months. This is not something you really would need a anti-depressant for but a bright light that fills the whole room might help

It's called "Seasonal Depression" and it is a lot more common in the northern states where we have long winters. You can take a mild anti-depressant during times like that, if you like. Or maybe take a short vacation somewhere warm and sunny during long stretches of dismal weather.

I'm always happy to get the Christmas lights up in the winter. It seems to help because everything isn't so dark and dreary then, and it breaks up the long NY winters with brightness, cheer, and color.

Well, some people allow outside forces to affect them too much. Generally, dreary days can affect the body in many ways, but giving into those feelings actually clinches it. For example, allergies change with the weather, atmospheric pressure can affect sinuses and breathing, heat makes you sweat. Despite these discomforts, we can decide to make the most of it or not. Take care.

Behavior can sometimes be influenced by a lack of light. However, that is more common during the Winter months in northerly or southerly latitudes when there is little sunlight. It is called seasonal affective disorder - google it.

You could have a medical condition known as S.A.D. (I forget what it stands for), but if you go to your doctor, you can actually get a device that shines sunshine type light on you for a certain amount of time on days that the natural sun isn't shining.
