This was no mean feat, as Lady Minerva had a curvaceous figure, which required that she tightly bind her breasts, and that she wear a kind of loose-fitting suit with a long jacket that minimized her hips. The Dartmouth Gentlemens Association observed a strict dress policy. What she learned, once she entered the heavy oak doors was that these were no gentlemen! She found men engaged in every form of unspeakable depravity imaginable, and by no means was she the only woman in the place. In one part of the club, women were engaged in various acts with male members (pun intended). In another part, they engaged in various acts with other women, to the amusement of men who were watching. People were involved in every manner of dress and undress, some using apparatus that she had never before seen. Lady Minerva was sure that if she remained in this place, very quickly she would be exposed (pun again!) and so she began to try to leave as quickly but as unobtrusively as she could. Before she could get to the door, her bindings came undone, and her feminine physique, as well as the delicate features of her face, became evident to some of the men. Determined to have their way with this exotic woman who dressed as a man, they began to chase her. Lord Reilly came sauntering out of the bar just in time to see his wife being pursued, and stepped between Minerva and the men, seeing her safely out to the street. As they walked toward home, Lord Reilly turned to Lady Minerva, yanked the bodice up on his bustier to better cover his breasts, and asked, "Be a dear. Please look to see if the seams of my stockings are straight."

Imagine her surprise on entering the meeting room , apparently the only "man" in attendance, as everyone else in the room was a "woman". Neither she not her husband recognized the other, nor ever mentioned the evening.
