Man, Barry deserves this. I have not idea how carlos beltran made it when he's batting below .275, and having a sub-par allstar season. I mean, sure barry was juiced, but he took steroids when they were legal, and he has the greatest eye in mlb history. So, I dont know why people call him a cheater when he did something that was legal at the time. GO BARRY AND CONGRATULATIONS!! GO GIANTS

So why does Soriano deserve the spot... He hasn't done much this year. Everyone is so harsh on Bonds but I have said it before and I will say it again... If he doesn't have that 1 year where he hit 73 home runs and kept hitting his 40-50 would anyone be crying about the steroids.... Also look at it this way... Steroids can only add a little distance right... He still needs to hit the ball. Take his home runs away that barely cleared the fence that year... He still probably hits about 50-60... If he was a nice sociable guy I don't think there would be any problems... Why doesn't anyone talk about David Ortiz.. Or did no one here him say he might have taken steroids, but he doesn't know cause it was a "protein drink" or some crap... Just get off Bonds, he is probably in his final year.. Let him enjoy it a little.

I agree, completely! I think the fans got it right. I put in for him all 25 times I voted. Plus, it's great for the city, SF Giants organization, and the fans. It's great to have, arguably, 2 of the best outfielders this game has seen in the corners (Jr. and Bonds) and one of the best rising stars between the two (Beltran). The only way this coudl be more exciting is if Bonds and Griffey dueled in the Home Run Derby on Monday!

I think he deserves it,considering hes about to break one of the most cherished records in baseball. And by the way steroids were never legal, they are a controlled substance.
That would be a felony to have them without a script.

He is a cheating bum and the ONLY people who respect this insecure little boy are Giants fans.

Placing Barroid in the same sentence with Babe Ruth is so ridiculous it's laughable.

He's got the numbers to justify getting into the game. And with the game in San Fran, it's a foregone conclusion that he'd be there.

I think Barry Bonds is a dope addict and should not even be mentioned in the same sentence with Babe Ruth ! Most pro sports are riddled with dope, so it just makes it all about that and the almighty dollar.

i say congratulations, that's a great accomplishment for any ball player, but i still think he shouldn't get the home-run king title.

He deserved it! He has 14 homers and is batting .287. He should have been a reserve, though.
