I had my muffler changed on my 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee yesterday nothing was really wrong with the old one I am just gradually maintaining the Jeep, my cat convertor is only 2 years old. Now when I step on the gas or make a turn it vibrates/growls. It is not hitting or rubbing against anything and my old muffler made no sounds at all so I am pretty sure it isn't the cat convertor...any ideas so I can throw them at my mechanic when I take it back??

it sounds like it might be touching the frame or somthing else when turning or accelerating. its common if they install non direct fit hardware, it doesnt always fit the best ,but they should fix it for you easily

Just tell the mechanic what it is doing. He'll be able to put it on a rack and take a close look at what could be the problem.

Just tell him what you told us, and I'm sure he will fix it for you.
