because the good and interesting ones are ones that are on TV or property of other sites so a lot of people want to see them but it is not legal for youtube to have them on their site without permission of these companies.

Youtube usually removes videos from their website if it violates the "Terms of Use"...
Say you were going to watch an XXX video, and it said "This video has been removed due to terms of use violations",
Videos on youtube can't be nudity, or violate any copyright laws, etc.

Because they're not meant to support piracy. Many of the videos are illegal copies of copyright material.
