how do you clean on old item that has sequins on it?

I have a vintage sequined dress. I put woolite in some water in the bathtub (just enough to cover) and lay the dress in it. Then, I take a sponge and blot the dress several times, carefully.

After that, I open the drain and pour clear water over it until it is free of soap, and roll it up in a clean towel. I then unroll it from the first towel, and do the same with another dry towel. After that, I lay it on the sweater drying screen I have that stands over my bathtub. If you don't have one, you could lay it out on a clean dry sheet on top of your dryer.
