Billions of years ago there was the big bang thus sending matter and anti-matter into every direction. If we look back far enough in one direction we can catch up to the time when the _hit hit the fan. Behind the fan, there is an entity so powerful that we can't imagine the true complexity of the force. We call it God as if we can even understand it with our premature feeble comparatively small brains. Now I am not saying that there isn't a place for religion but what is written in the scripture was created by man for mankind. Plus when we add the hundreds of religions to the equation the merits of one become reduced. I am stating this because in my mind earth was created for mankind to enjoy but history shows that this wasn't always the case. God is a wonderful thing to believe in and for some people it becomes a cure all and for others like myself I leave the evolution door wide open and I let the facts dictate my beliefs.

Well, the Earth came from the dust of the Proto-Sun about a couple of billion years ago. Many years in time, the earth formed into a big rock sphere....until it was constantly bombarded by asteroids, making the Earth into a all lava, inhabitable planet. Once the bombardment stopped after couple millions years, the Earth cooled. All the steam from the lava had created clouds that covered the entire planet. The constant rain from those clouds is what created our oceans.

As time went by, the continents were created, then eventually...life. I would explain more thoroughly, but I'll take up too much space. I've got the knowledge of this from all the books on the universe I've read and the TV programs.

we are all in a computer game, similar to something like the sims or sim city. I call it sim earth. Someone out there designed the earth with all its variety and then started playing the game in which they help the human race develop, however at some point they got bored of the game and we are just being left to develop on our own within the game

God created it.

It is hard to be smart and believe in science and accept this, but that is where faith comes in.
