Maybe if we had Donovan, Beasley, Bocanegra and our other regular players we would've had a serious chance but I'd be satisfied if we could have our young men improve their game against Paraguay and Colombia and possibly win a match (against Colombia maybe). Anything can happen so let's take it step by step. Thanks!

Even if the U.S. had sent their best team, they would probably have finished no higher than third. While there are always chances for upsets, Argentina and Brazil are substantially better than the other teams in the tournament.
Since this tournament is less significant for the U.S. than for South American teams, the U.S. is using it to get top-level experience for some of the younger players who may be key in the next world cup in 2010. As such, qualifying for the next round (whether as a second place or third place team) would be a nice accomplishment for the U.S.

No... The USA has no chance. At best they take second place in their group and move on to the round of 16 and get knocked out by a top notch team.

No. Id hardly consider them a darkhorse or even having an outside chance of winning it. The team is actually pretty good but so are many of the teams it has to face.

It will take a lot of time for USA to have a good futbol team may be never it will have the quality of Argentina, Brazil,or European teams, its a matter of experience and number of players in the country.

This is a funny question. These aren't Caribbean or Central American teams, these are S. American nations where football is king and very much a part of their lives. Good luck though, they'll need it.
