I know a place called Dots - everything in there is $15 or less. You can go to thier website for locations www.dots.com. There is also rave girl, sorry couldn't find their website, but you might find it in the yellow pages. Same clothes as in Rave, but smaller. My 12 year old loves both those places, and she knows I'm cheap.

First, I think it's great that you notice the problems with the credit cards. I turned 30 June 4 and didn't get my first non-store credit card until I was 29, and that was by default. About five years ago, I opened up a Sears store credit card account. The offer for new cardholders was $10 off the first purchase and there was no minimum purchase. I had a blouse I wanted (light blue, fitted with the gathering thing at the top; I just realized it seems to be missing...) that was about $8. I bought the blouse with the temporary card and got it for free. It was the only time I used the card. Well, Sears changed their store card to a MasterCard and I still haven't activated the card.
Also, my husband got a new credit card and put my name on one, too. It's from Amazon.com and I use it only for true necessities, like gas and groceries. A couple of times he let me buy clothes with it, but only because I literally needed the shoes and he wanted me to get something new because I rarely get clothes.
Anyway, I agree with thrift stores. They can have some great stuff for under $5. Also, what I like about thrift stores is that I'm giving an extended life to something that is already in existance, I'm supporting good causes and not coporate America, and I'm not supporting things like poor factory conditions in other countries or the extra energy and natural resources it takes to make the clothes, and transport them.
Rummage (yard or garage) sales are good too. In the past couple of weeks, I've gotten some maternity clothes (kahaki pants that are still too big [I'm six months] and some jeans and a shirt [most of my regular shirts still fit so I don't "need" many new ones and I can always borrow my husband's older golf shirts] all for $1 each. I even got some baby clothes for a dime and a quarter, but I'm refraining on buying stuff since I have a couple of showers coming and people have been offering me stuff from their children and grandchildren.)
Anyway, I digress. When I do shop regular retail, I go for the clearance racks that are at lesat 50% off. Which would be very good at Target with your mom's discount.
I didn't get an allowance either when I was a kid. I just relied on when my parents decided I could get clothes and then my mom tried to get them for me as cheap as possible, which meant hand-me-downs from my older sister (until I outgrew her), rummage sales, clearance racks, etc.
I hope this helps.

You should go to the places when they are on sale. They usually have clothing A LOT cheaper then. Also, look for clearance racks. You should try other stores too. I mean Hollister, Gap, and Old Navy aren't the only ones with cute clothing. They're just overrated, so their prices shoot up. Personally, i think Target has really cute stuff for a cheap price. I like shopping there! And remember, you don't always have to get namebrands! Oh yeah, you can't go wrong with thrift stores! Good luck! =]

Go to Ross's, Kohls, TJ Maxx, Target, etc. The trick is getting pieces that go really well together and flatter your body shape and coloring. It's more difficult to find cute things that you love here, but the peices you find are well made and really cheap. And if your mom works at Target, you can get a discount making it even cheaper.

Hmmm, well If you go to Aeropostle you can find some awesome clearance items and even then they always have sales going on. It is a great preppy store and I like it alot. Like several times I went there and I got a shirt that was originally $40 and it was on sale opening for their promos [they have alot of promos] and I only paid $10 something for it, it rocked.

Go to www.15dollarstore.com, and look at dots.com, both of those are 15 dollars or less. if your parents wont let you shop online look at JC Pennys, they allways are having sales and also look at aeropostale, I got an AWESOME outfit from that place, it costed like 26 bucks for a pair of kaprees and a white polo shirt! OH and also, look at Kohls, they are flippin GREAT! Now, some of their clothes are expensive, but they have tons of great sales. You can go to Kohls.com and find a store location in your area. Also look at Ross and TJ Maxx. Luv/Kodi
