I've been wondering, if it is ok to fill my gas tank completely, but I mean completely, I force the gas pump to put more gasoline in my truck, even though it stopped by itself, I raise the tip of the pump a little so more gasoline come out. Is this ok? Because the other day I saw a generator with a stamp that said "Do not fill completely the tank, leave some space for gas expansion" something like that. please answer my question, thanks

It is not a good idea to completely fill the tank. You will get liquid into the vapor canister. As someone mentioned, the fuel hoses have a vacuum on them that is supposed to suck all the gasoline vapor back into the line. So there is no sense paying for the gas and having it sucked by into the service stations tanks.

You can wait until the gas pump clicks off and then round it up to the next nearest dollar amount. good luck.

Of course. That doesn't fill your tank completely. Why would you think that there's a correlation between the gas pump shutting off and your tank being full? The pumps shut off when you're close to reaching the amount you paid for beforehand.

I remember hearing once that pumps have a device to pull excess gas back into the nozzle to prevent spills. If that is happening you are paying for gas that you are giving back to the station.

Just let it click off and consider that full. You can't get much more in anyway.

It is not good to completely fill the tank because of the damage that can be caused to the emission system vapor canister if gas floods into it.

its a waste of gas.... and is dangerous. Yep you need space for the gas to expand. It will casue gas to be forced out tof the cap dangerous...... some older cars also have a vent tube.... filling to the top of the filler pipe will lead to gas leaking out of the vent....

Is technically impossible to completely fill the tanks in cars nowadays. As they are designed to have an air pocket in the top of them. Good luck.

I wouldn't do it. You could expierence a vaopr lock, in which case, you will not be going anywhere for a while.
